If you look to your right you can see picturesque Glasthule and Sandycove...
Sandycove is where the James Joyce museum can be found. It's in the round Martello Tower you can see here and was where Joyce lived when he wrote Ulysses. Every year on 16 June, Bloomsday, Joyce lovers go here to begin reliving the events of his famous novel, starting with a swim in the 40 foot bathing place at Sandycove....
Despite the January cold (when these photos were taken), it's fun just throwing and skimmimg stones and hunting for crabs amongst the seaweed.
When the tide comes in, the waves crash onto this wall and up over the railings onto the promenade.
And, yes sometimes -vary rarely though- we let our children eat some junk food :P
The sea front between Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove. A pleasant stroll, particularly if you've just had a whippy ice-cream from the famous Teddy's :)
Don't ask what this pose means! I have no idea! Just happy I guess.
