london calling

Hi! Just showing off the new camera ;)
And bragging a bit about a weekend trip to London! Ladies only!
Granny Carmielia and yours truly took went to London for the weekend back in August to (belatedly) celebrate Granny's big 6-0 birthday.
We had a great time. We stayed at a nice hotel in Covent Garden, had leisurely breakfasts, went to see the musical "Chicago" on the West End, dined out and went shopping!
And I took a few random photos of London city with my new camera:

riding again

As you will know if you've skimmed the gazillion blog entries from our '08 holiday, we did all sorts of fun stuff over the summer: swimming, fairground fun, playing, trekking... etc. About the only thing we didn't do was ride our bikes. So, needless to say, when we got back the lads were happy to get back on their wheels and go for a few rides!

It comes back to you... just like riding a bike.

jamrobber *jam*

They don't call us the "JamRobbers" for nothing!!!
Red currants! From Granny and Granddad's garden!
When we got home after our summer holidays, they were ripe and waiting to be picked. Granny and Grandad had been saving them for us. The kids grabbed some bowls and picked those bushes clean!
After cleaning and removing the stems, they were ready to for "jamming" :)

All this from just two red currant bushes!

The first thing we made was a red currant tart. Mmmm. We had never made jam before but we wanted to give it a try. It turned out to be so easy! We're definately doing it again next year!

We gave a few away as gifts... and the rest? Well, let's just say it didn't last long around here :)

Is your mouth watering yet?
