birthday cake :) and sore eyes :(

So.... I've managed to build up another considerable backlog of Jamrobbing blog material. I'm determined to get through it before we go on our summer holidays just twenty days from now.

So, what's next on the overdue schedule? Ah, yes... sweet memories of Lorcan's 1st birthday... involving birthday cake and sore eyes. Here he is on the morning of his birthday... the little guy is rarely poorly so it was a surprise to us when he woke up on his bday (of all days!) with conjunctivitis. Well, after I thought about it for a bit, it wasn't really that much of a surprise... he had been in contact with a baby with the same thing just days before :(

So, yes, the poor little dude actually spent part of his birthday morning morning visiting the doctor :(

He liked the toys in the waiting room as you can see!

After the conjunctivitis was confirmed and the antibiotic eye ointment applied, it was nap time for the birthday boy. While he was snoozing, Liam, Malachy and Mummy got to work on the little guy's first birthday cake!!!

If it weren't for their huge passion for eating raw ingredients while we work, the big boys are becoming really good baker's assistants!

They really get into it!

Watching the cake rise is all part of the fun!

See?

Not to mention decorating it with sticky chocolate, marshmallows and smarties!!

Mmmmm

After lunch, it was music day for Liam so we all went to Dun Laoghaire for music and then a visit to the library.

Lorcan may have had sore eyes, but that did not deplete his appetite!

He gets such huge enjoyment out of eating :)

Next up the candle blowing...

jasmine is 4

Little Jasmine had a looovely birthday party in May and we were all invited! Here she is with Anna Banana, the best lady clown in town :)

As part of the games, Liam played the part of the witch...

Can you see me in the mirror over the fireplace?

It was a beautiful sunny spring day and so the garden was the place to be :)

Such a clever idea: the trampoline is set into the groundso there's no worrying about kiddies falling off!

Malachy deep in a daydream at the party....

Jasmine insisted on carrying the rice crispie cakes and offering them around. She's a big girl now, after all!

Later Anna Banana had all the kids outside playing with her amazing technicolour dream sheet...

Then she told funny stories

... they were all enthralled.

And shared all the special clown goodies from her big fat bag with the boys and girls

A birthday cake for a little princess!

Sometimes a girl gets a little shy just at her big moment :)

first BBQ of the season

Noreen, Julian and Anna invited us for a yummy barbeque at their place back in May. The first of the season! It was lovely to have our two families together for a little garden party. Thanks guys!

Malachy likes Anna's toys

Lorcan found some stuff he liked too :)

Anna, as always, was so good about sharing.

And Noreen, as always, was active and fun (yes that's a pregnant belly she's hiding there somewhere!!!)

See?!

Come on.... rock and ROLL, Jaime!

Soon to be big sister Anna. Isn't she gorgeous?!

I love this photo :)

Liam borrowed Anna's tiara. Very regal altogether.
