ChillidaLeku (and the death of a great camera)

On our last day in Donosti, we savoured the morning with the kids together.

Said goodbye to cute little Nora and her family...

And went on our way to nearby Hernani, to visit Chillidaleku, the countryside museum dedicated to Eduardo Chillida.
It's such a spectacular place. And it was such a beautiful day.

A perfect museum for children. A place where they are actually encouraged to touch, feel and experience the sculptures out in the open air.

We picnicked in the grounds of the museum.

And took some lovely photos of our time there.

Little did I know that these would be... THE LAST EVER PHOTOS MY TRUSTY OLD ACER CAMERA WOULD TAKE :(

Just the day before, I had called Unai and ordered a new Panasonic. So, it was as though my old camera sensed my betrayal and seized up in protest.

Whatever the reason, after this afternoon at Chillidaleku, our old camera never worked again. We managed to salvage the photos that were saved on the memory stick but that was officially the end.

It wasn't a great camera, but it was ours and it took an awful lot of photos that contain huge sentimental value for us.

Well, that's the end of my tribute to our old friend.

These are the last photos. Enjoy:

Coming next: Bizkaia through the lens of our new Panasonic!
