Els Xiprers

Els Xiprers is second on our list of school preferences. Check it out: http://www.xtec.es/centres/a8042329/

It's totally different to Sant Felip Neri. For a start it's much further away, located outside the city in the beautiful Collserola Natural Park:

Liam (and later Malachy) would have to take the train from Plaza Catalunya to the Baixador de Vallvidrera (about a 20-minute ride) and then climb the hill from the train station, through the natural park, to the school. The great thing about Els Xiprers is the surroundings and, although the trip sounds gruelling, it actually forms part of their school day -i.e. the train leaves the station at 9.05 am, when the kids are taken aboard the train by a group of supervisors, the teachers meet the kids off the train and guide them through the park, stopping for a hands-on nature class every morning, before classes officially start at 9.45 am. They take a shorter lunch break than other schools to make up for starting late and the place has it's own kitchen and dining room where homemade food is served to pupils and students alike every day.

We've got some friends who go here and love it. We debated for quite a while about putting this school down as our first choice but decided against it in the end because, realistically, our chances of getting a place are slimmer -we don't live in the area and therefore have less points. Still, fingers crossed if we miss out on our first choice, we might get lucky.
