getting together

While we were still in Asturias, some of the family came to stay for the weekend...

Nora!

And Maia, and Abuela...

And Luis and Saioa and Nacho.
They arrived in the evening... so we just relaxed at the house for the rest of that day.
The next day though, of course, we spent some time at the beach (plenty more photos below....)

The boys were delighted with all the company and extra play to be had!

Nora was happy to join in and play with the few toys we had brought to our holiday house...

And everyone liked the cute little town we had found... and its idyllic little beach.

Dads are great at making sandcastles...

... arent' they?

Nora likes to do her own thing.

She's always on the lookout!

And look at what Saioa made in the sand!

We stayed till the tide came right in....

... before heading back up through the village to our holiday homes.

Then we got all glammed up ;)
(those are Malachy's toes)

(and those are Nora's!)

...while Abuela and her youngest grandchild -chubby chops Maia- hung out on the lawn.

And we played....

... and just enjoyed the scenery.

Then, Tío Nacho got the fire started for the barbecue.

Lorcan was utterly enthralled to discover that cooking does not have to be limited to the kitchen!

Then we set up the tables for our family meal... (yes, as always, Lorcan was eager to get eating!)

Doesn't everything taste so much yummier in the outdoors?

Bon apetit.

What better way to let our meal digest than with some leisurely downtime on the grass?

...although, eventually, downtime always livens up a little ;)

We visited Ribadesella the following day...

Although it was a little drizzly, we had fun at the playground with Nora.

We strolled around the town and found place to eat out by the square.

Later we took a stroll, stopping on the way for some smooches ;)

... and some window shopping!

Then we all went in convoy to the little town of Cuevas that we liked so much the week before.

It rained a little, but that didn't stop us from having a look around.

The boys wanted Nora to meet their friend the calf...

And we even found a tiny frog, who was kind enough to pose on Nora's little hand for this photo.

Maia, as usual, was all smiles :D

On the last day of Luisaionoramaianachoabuela's visit, we went back to the beach.
I love this shot!
Later we all had lunch together... and then said our goodbyes... but not for long...
(more family shots from the Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa leg of our journey coming to a blog near you soon... ;)
