Caherdaniel - Derrynane - Waterville

This is the famous Ring of Kerry

We were staying in Kenmare and on Easter Monday we travelled along the Ring through Sneem to Caherdaniel and Waterville in Derrynane Bay.

Here are some of the images we captured along the way...

Derrynane bay as seen from the car as we set out on that cloudy morning.

The beautiful woods around Derrynane House...

Derrynane House was the home of Irish liberator Daniel O'Connell and now it is a museum commemorating him.

Derrynane House is set right beside the beautiful Caherdaniel beach...

So we walked on down...

Through the turnstile...

To where the grass meets the sand...

...and the rocks...

... and the seaweed...

There were people walking their dogs and riding horses.

And we had a picnic lunch right there on the rocks

Then we did some exploring in the rock pools.

And watched the clouds begin to clear.

We made a wish (which is, of course, a secret!)

Then we headed further on down the Ring of Kerry...

... to Waterville...

Where we went for a walk along the seafront

... which we thoroughly enjoyed :)

Played and did another little egg hunt in the park by the sea.

Had an ice-cream in the grotto !!!

And then it was time to hit the road bound for Kenmare once again.
