Two little angels!

I walked into the sitting room and I found Malachy just sitting there quietly leafing through this picture book on the Louvre Museum in Paris. He seemed enthralled by the paintings, so I just left him there with his thoughts.... and promptly dashed off to get the camera and secretly take these pix!

Cute, very cute

Ok, so I don't always smile in photos!
V: "Sorry, am I boring you?"
J: " Huh?... Oh, no sorry, is that better?"

We have become regular customers of Lambes fishmongers in Dun Laoghaire. These sea bream were just goooorgeous (oven roasted on a bed of potatoes and onions)... mmmm
brightening up the place!

things we've been growing...

Brussel sprouts, tomatoes, strawberries and even an aubergine!!
That aubergine was so cute until, unfortunately, some bird came along a pecked big hole in it!
We also grew green peppers, blackberries, gooseberries, radishes and a herb garden with mint, chives, cardamom and parsley!

You see, all this Irish rain is great for making the veggies big and juicy...

... even if we have to leave them on the window-sill for a while to ripen! Posted by Picasa

Kids collages!

Malachy has a fetish for lining things up. Everywhere he goes he leaves a trail of lines! He makes rows of shoes, cups, crayons, cars, toys,... you name it! If he can lift it up and move it, he can line it up! I sometimes wonder if this will become obsessive-compulsive with age!?

Isn't that a really long body I've got?!!

Ella!

Liam is 4; Ella (my buddy Jacqui's lovely little niece) is 3; and Malachy is 2!!! Don't they make a yummy sandwich?!

Ella came over to play one afternoon in August. Our plan was to go to the park and entertain the kids there but they were having such a lovely time in the garden that we just hung out at home!

Ella was a great help tidying up the balls afterwards... especially the pink ones, for some reason?!

Jack

Liam and Malachy playing with their second cousin Jack! This was taken back on 13 August... I'm posting pix in chronological order so, as you can see, I still have a lot of catching up to do!!!

sinéad & brian

I've known this girl since I was, oh, I'd say about 5! I sat behind her at St. Joseph's primary school and mostly in front of her (?!) at Dominican College for girls in Dun Laoghaire (now demolished and replaced by Bloomfields shopping centre... aw). Sinéad and her lovely man Brian will soon be moving to a new house in Blackrock (closer to us!). Looking forward to seeing more of lovely Shinners...!

And the tall guy here on the left is Brian... proving here along with Jaime that lovely men come in all shapes and sizes!! ;-) Posted by Picasa

down the hill

It's moments like these when I really wish I had a better camera!!!! This little robin red-breast paid us a visit whilst we were picnicking... he fluttered around us, disappearing a number of times but always coming back to share our crumbs. The boys loved it!

After our picnic, we worked our way back down the other side of the hill...

... and walked down to the heritage town of Dalkey... where we had yummy hot chocolates and coffees on the front terrace of The Queens pub, a really old place (established 1743!!) Posted by Picasa

picnic spot

We found this great spot for a picnic on Killiney hill

So we sat ourselves down with our snacks

Mmm, you just love that coleslaw don't ya, daddy?

Little Lorcan was such a good boy on our day out

And Malachy, as always, was great at showing him our pure love and thorough appreciation

Killiney Hill

One Saturday back in August we all took a nice walk up Killiney hill...

Liam and Malachy make every walk into an adventure. Trees can be hidden behind, chased around, hugged or climbed, hills can be run up and/or down and paths can be lost or found, there are acorns, pinecones, conkers and sticks to be collected and treasured and there is food to be eaten and savoured because it always tastes better on the outdoors!
