As you can see here, Lorcan was born with a cleft lip. Fortunately, the malformation is very minor and there is no internal damage to his mouth, nose or palate. He's been tested for any associated malformations and, thankfully, he got the all clear. At some time in his first 6 months, Lorcan will be having a small plastic surgery operation to correct the cleft in his lip. We perish the thought of operating on our tiny little baby so soon but, at the same time, we're just so thankful that he's well and healthy in every other way.... our lovely little Lorcan.
