last halloween

It was our first Halloween in Dublin all together (last year, Mummy and Daddy were in Barcelona for Halloween with Lorcan for his lip operation). So this year, we all got into the spirit of things as a family!
Scary, isn't he?
Yeah, but you don't have to live with him! (hee hee hee)

Malachy dressed up as a pirate for school...

But magically, he turned into Superman just in time for trick or treating!

Aaaaahhhh! That skeleton there is Liam!

Lorcan, on the other hand, was not having ANY fancy dress items at ALL. Anything resembling a costume was immediately removed from his person! Balloons were allowed though.

Before we went trick or treating, we were invited to a party at Hannah and Ellen-Grace's house. Their mum and dad, Jessica and Jeremy, throw a great party... and do a big fireworks display for the whole neighbourhood when all the trick or treating is done :)

Our boys and their girls: Hannah cuddling up with Ellen-Grace while the boys get comfy! After that they did bobbing for apples and lots of other Halloween games.

Hey, Hannah!

Then it was trick or treat time!!!

One of the neighbours even had their dog dressed up!

At our house, we had all sorts of decorations and goodies :D

I'm a witchy-poo!

I'm not sure if I'm Frankenstein or some sort of zombie.... but I sure am scary!

We look good together, don't you think?

Now it's sparkler time for all the little ones...

And fireworks to top it all off! Thanks, Jeremy :)

pyjama painting

Do you like painting with watercolours?

We do!
Any time is a good time... even straight after breakfast when you're still in your 'jammies'!

Daddy's teaching these boys everything he knows :)

how about howth?

Starting point: Dalkey DART station: Catching the train to Howth!

On the DART.

And, um, on Dublin Bus too, because on that bank holiday Monday we chose to go to Howth, the DART line just happened to be cut off for repairs :(

So... one bus and two trains later...

We got to the Peninsula of Howth Head!

Howth is a beautiful fishing village with lots of fish, shellfish and seafood shops and restaurants.

Mmm... we were spoiled for choice.

And, even though it was a bank holiday, the shops were open... and busy.

Then we went for a walk around the harbour...

and met this funny little dog (with the most human of facial expressions!)
the end of the pier

"ship ahoy!"

???¿¿!!

If you look closely here, you'll see one of the local seals peeping up at you!

"Which one is which, Daddy?"

eating fish and chips!!

and playing with the locals in the playground on the seafront

heading home...

through the city, to the other side... good night.
