holiday hanging

This is just one of the walls in Carmen's place... the rest are lined with all the books that she's read too! *This photo was not staged, honest!!

romo en verano

After a few days in Gallarta, we moved our holiday suitcases and ourselves to Carmen's lovely new apartment in Neguri. Carmen was still in Italy at the time and kindly offered her place to us for our stay. It was so great to be able to stay so close to old our old hangouts: Romo, Algorta, Las Arenas, Leioa... And it's beside the port and the beach as well.

The fountain in the square between Romo and Areeta.
...J and I still remember when the train tracks used to run along here before the metro went underground and the whole place got so modern!

there's something so refreshing about fountains on a hot summer morning...

Malachy lifting up his shirt to feel the spray!

Lorcan seemed especially enthralled... I was just surprised that he didn't sneak past the railing and splash right in!

We visited Javi at his shop, Brixton, in Romo and when he shut up shop at midday, we all went for lunch at a caserĂo restuarant in Umbe.
There's a playground there too!!!

And, believe it or not, sometimes even Mummy and Daddy get on the swings and roundabouts for a jaunt ;)

don ignacio and the boys

We had been waiting quite some time to meet this little guy! Ignacio, Javi and Lola's pride and joy.

He was more than happy to let me snap LOTS of pictures... and had a really good time with our gang of boys!

the coolest kids on the block!

this is such a typically "Malachy" pose, I just had to post it.

Lola must have been very good at avoiding my camera lens because I didn't get her in any pics that day. Javi, on the other hand, was easier to capture :)

nos gustan las barracas!

The first summer fiestas we visited this year were in Santurzi.

Nacho came with us and we spent the morning having fun on the kiddie fairground attractions :)

Bouncy castles are fun!

Oops

Lorcan sits one out.

We particularly liked this Titanic bouncy slide!

:D

... We had our very first Bumper Car experience!!!

And then tried out all sorts of other rides....

Being around the port of Santurzi brings back memories for Daddy
...of the days when he worked on this big boat!

Our last ride was a kind of Ghost Train, which wasn't scary at all!

Woohoo!!!
